National Estuaries Day at Eden Landing Ecological Reserve (Hayward/Union City)
Sat Sep 29, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm, 2012 Eden Landing (Hayward/Union City)
In partnership with California Department of Fish and Game
Did you know that San Francisco Bay is actually an estuary? Have you ever heard of brackish water? Do you know how many major estuaries can be found in the U.S.? Save The Bay’s field educators are estuary experts and after spending “a day on the Bay”, you will be too. Join Save The Bay as we remove invasive weeds at the Eden Landing Ecological Preserve. Volunteers will learn about the ecology of the San Francisco Estuary while participating in the largest tidal wetland restoration project on the West Coast.
Due to the sensitive nature of the restoration site, space is limited and RSVP is requested. You must fill out the online registration form below to register yourself or a group of 10 people or less.
If you need more information about this or other events or if you would like to sign up a group larger than 10 people please contact Natalie LaKeidan at (510) 463-6809 or email bayevents@saveSFbay.org.
No experience necessary. Gloves, tools and instruction provided. Each event is led by Save The Bay staff certified in CPR and Wilderness First Aid and all site projects have been planned to ensure safety.
