Fellowship Program

Save The Bay's Fellowship Program enlists volunteers to provide critical professional support in our office and at restoration sites while gaining hands-on experience and individual mentorship as team members of Save The Bay’s talented and passionate staff. This program is an excellent opportunity for professional development and offers insight into a nonprofit-sector career.

The program operates in 12-16 week sessions, with possibilities for extension. Fellows commit to working 20-24 hours per week. These are unpaid volunteer positions. Save The Bay provides transportation reimbursements.

Fellows are selected on a variety of criteria including interests, education, experience and knowledge in environmental studies, local government, restoration science, community engagement, communications, fundraising and enthusiasm for the San Francisco Bay. Fellows participate in a field planting day, all-staff meetings, and any staff appreciation events offered during their Session. Read position descriptions below.

“It was refreshing to work with such a well-run organization. The projects I worked on with the Pollution Prevention Team renewed my drive to be a part of a field that focuses on clean stormwater solutions for a healthy Bay. Overall, it was a great experience!” – Hilary, former Pollution Prevention Policy Fellow.
