Volunteering
Save The Bay depends on volunteers to help protect the Bay. Volunteers work in our nurseries sowing native seed and planting many different species in the wetlands, pick up trash along the shoreline to prevent it from polluting the Bay, check water quality, and provide information about Save The Bay to residents at events throughout the Bay Area so other people are aware of their effect on the Bay and how they can help.
Volunteering is also a great way to discover a new activity, such as canoeing, birding, or gardening, that you can enjoy for years to come.
If you’re concerned about the environment and would like to make a positive difference in your community, volunteer with Save The Bay! A list of upcoming volunteer opportunities can be found on our Bay Events Calendar.
If you can’t volunteer with Save The Bay, there are many other ways you can help our environment at home and in your community:
-
Conserve water
-
Take the family car to a professional carwash so less pollutants get sent to the Bay
-
Never dump anything down storm drains
-
Pick up trash at your local park
-
Talk to your friends and family about what you’ve learned about the Bay
You can make a positive difference for your community, your family and yourself by volunteering!
