Save The Bay gives you an opportunity to participate in hands-on restoration of San Francisco Bay wetlands near you.
Our restoration program puts people on the Bay shore to:
- collect native plant seeds
- grow plants in our nurseries
- sow native plants along the shoreline
- monitor the health of wildlife populations
These restoration activities improve habitat for fish, birds, and other wildlife, and enhance our region’s quality of life. Save The Bay staff lead work days for volunteers, field education programs for students, and training workshops for teachers at sites all around the Bay. Join Save The Bay for a restoration program in your corner of the bay and while you get your hands dirty, learn about wetland ecology, how native plants improve Bay health, and threats affecting the Bay.
To sign up or get more information about scheduling a group project or participating in our Saturday restoration programs, please contact Natalie LaVan, Restoration Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator, at natalie@savesfbay.org or by phone at (510)452-9261 x109. Give your class or group the opportunity to learn about the ecological treasure in our midst.
