Save The Bay's award-winning Watershed Education Programs allow students to discover the natural treasure that defines our region: San Francisco Bay. We offer middle and high school students and teachers environmental education experiences on the Bay and in their schools.

For additional information and details, please download our brochure.

In 2005, Save The Bay’s Watershed Education Programs received an Outstanding Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan (CCMP) Implementation Project Award at the biennial State of the San Francisco Estuary Conference.

These programs provide students and teachers with an awareness of the Bay, a connection between their daily lives and a local wetland, and a sense of responsibility for the Bay through active stewardship:

Canoes In Sloughs
Canoes In Sloughs opens students’ eyes to a whole new world through an on-the-water learning experience that helps them gain knowledge about and respect for nature and the Bay.  In 2001, the program was awarded U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer’s Excellence in Education Award.

Restoration Programs
Hands-on stewardship projects, community-based restoration, that engage students in wetland restoration to restore the health and diversity of the Bay ecosystem.

Teacher Training & Resources
Professional development training and Bay workshops for teachers.

Our Watershed Education Program has provided environmental education experiences for more than 30,000 Bay Area youths over the last eight years.

Please join us for a Bay experience that you won't forget!

Welcome Girl Scouts!

Hundreds of Girl Scouts, their families and troop leaders join Save The Bay to explore San Francisco Bay every year. Join us on a Canoes In Sloughs or restoration program to learn about your connection to the Bay and to help us protect and restore the Bay.
